Bureau Veritas in Congo celebrates the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

Dec. 7 2021

On November 25, 2021, Bureau Veritas in Congo celebrated the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

To this end, an awareness campaign on violence against women was conducted among young students. The sensitization took place at DGC, one of Bureau Veritas' partner schools in Congo. Azur Développement, a non-governmental organization that works to assist women and girls who are victims of violence, participated in the activity. Azur Développement also works for the valorization and autonomy of women in Congo.

The activity which gathered 78 participants was articulated around three points:

  • The presentation of the different types of violence;
  • The consequences of the violence suffered;
  • The procedure to follow when one is a victim or witness of violence.

To mark the activity with images, a film on sexual harassment in schools entitled "AGNIKE" was shown.
